Pot holes- filled

Before being elected Sheldon & Dave said they’d get the investment Hackbridge deserved. Among other things, they got over 20 pot holes filled on Reynolds Close and Kingswood Drive.

Going one better they ensured the road is listed for future consideration for road resurfacing.

His persistence paid off, in the coming years, improvements are going to be considered as part of a major redevelopment and future Council priority funding for sustainable transport via LIP funding. Dave said “I'll be working with officers to make sure that residents' interests are considered & acted on”.

Labour Councillors have led calls for solutions to the Lib Dem Incinerator, plummeting recycling rates and air pollution. All while Incinerator emissions exceedances occur, planning permission granted for tens of thousands of tonnes of dirty diesel to be burnt and permits to burn even more. Sutton Labour alongside the community are first to call this out as wrong and seek solutions.

Hackbridge Fete - community together

Sheldon & Dave led volunteers to host the Hackbridge Fete in Sept 22. Thirty stalls, food and free children’s entertainment ensured the community could celebrate during tough times. Keeping costs low for small local businesses means that investment remains in the community and entrepreneurs thrive.

Since Dave & Sheldon got the Council to install cameras, 11 fixed penalty notices have been issues to individuals fly-tipping in Hackbridge. In contrast to fly-tips prior to this in this area, no fixed penalty notices were issued. Other hotspots are highlighted and through partnership work more cameras have been requested.

Volunteering

Serving the community is at the heart of what we do. We’ve been working with local volunteers, charities and organisations to strengthen community resilience to tackle the cost of living like food banks, warm banks and housing.

Supporting residnets

Sheila has supported lots of residents with housing repairs, fly tipping and neighbourhood issues. Shops and flats at the Middleton Road Circle were experiencing problems with waste collections. Following her action, collections by the business waste companies and the Council’s own waste contractors have improve

Road improvemnts

Sheldon & Dave identified a range of spaces ignored by previous Councillors. Working with residents they ordered the refreshing of faded road markings, all essential for road safety like box junctions and double yellow lines. This has grown to a ward level refresh of the most important spots.
